The Proper Response to God’s Love is Obedience

Obedience and God's Love

God’s Love is the Prime Motivator. Love invites, love encourages, and love energizes. Love is what we all crave deep down inside whether things are good or things are not. Love is what everyone wants and needs but love is hard to find in this present evil world. When love draws you, you respond instantly. It’s built into you. You cannot refuse it. Love is God’s great calling card.

The second and lesser motivator is fear. This is what laws are all about. By exacting a penalty for a misdeed, people are more inclined to obey the law in question. The stiffer the penalty, the more obedient people are. Therefore the more heinous the crime, the stiffer the penalty prescribed by the law. Lesser offenses carry a lesser penalty in a society the embraces and advocates justice.

Fear of penalty or harm is indeed a good motivator, but love is better. Love inspires people to act in the right way while fear scares them into it. Which form of motivation do you think leads people to repentance?

II Corinthians 5:11-14   Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; but we are made manifest unto God; and I trust also are made manifest in your consciences.

For we commend not ourselves again unto you, but give you occasion to glory on our behalf, that ye may have somewhat to answer them which glory in appearance, and not in heart.

For whether we be beside ourselves, it is to God: or whether we be sober, it is for your cause.

For the love of Christ constraineth us; because we thus judge, that if one died for all, then were all dead:

And that he died for all, that they which live should not henceforth live unto themselves, but unto him which died for them, and rose again.

We see both types of motivation in these verses from II Corinthians 5. First, the “terror” of the Lord motivated Paul and his companions to preach Christ to unbelievers. Paul understood that God is Just and justice is what governs God’s judgments and sentences. Not wanting anyone to go through sentences that can be avoided, Paul preached the gospel.

On the other hand, he states, “For the love of Christ constrains us…” While the terror of the Lord motivated Paul and others to preach the gospel, it was the love of Christ that constrained them to live according to the gospel and to teach others to do the same.

God Uses Both Types of Motivation but Love is Strongest

We can see throughout the Scriptures that God uses both love and fear motivation, but I believe it states that what leads people to repentance is not their fear of God but their love for Him because of His goodness.

Romans 2:4  Or despise you the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?

I John 4:7-10  Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.

He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.

Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

To love God is to keep His commandments.

John 14:15  If ye love me, keep my commandments.

His commandments are to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength and to love your neighbor (as much) as you love yourself. When these are in place in your life, there is nothing you will do to harm or take advantage of anyone else.

The Fear of God Is Meant to Enforce Obedience

As you read God’s Word you will find many references to God’s judgments. Throughout Israel’s history, God warns them that if they are not obedient, they will suffer “the curse of the law.” The motivation to do what God wants is obvious here. God’s promise was that if they did obey Him by obeying His commandments, they would be blessed. The choice was given to them to obey or not with corresponding blessings and curses depending upon their decision. But love is the very reason God gave them the law in the first place — not to make them righteous but to convict them all of sin so they could see the need for their Savior, Jesus Christ who was prophesied to come. The love of God showed them they couldn’t attain to His standards no matter how hard they tried so God would provide a sacrifice for them by giving His only begotten Son.

The Love of God Leads to Repentence

We quoted Romans 2:4 above, “knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?” That God is good is undeniable. He gave us all we need, in this world to not only survive but to live abundantly. God wants His people to be in health and prosper

John 10:10  The thief comes not, but to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

II John 1:2  Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.

The key to health and prosperity then is in “your soul” prospering. Your soul is your inner life. As you feed your soul, so to speak, with God’s Word, it prospers. As your soul prospers, so does your health and prosperity in this life.

Vine’s Dictionary of Greek words defines the soul as “the seat of Intellect”: the seat of the sentient element in man, that by which he perceives, reflects, feels, and desires. Basically, the soul is the place that houses our will, our emotions, and our intellect (the thinking, reasoning part of us: The Mind).

Here is how your soul prospers:

James 1:21  Wherefore lay apart all filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to save your souls.

The word “save” in the above verse is the same Greek word, “”, as used to translate “prosper” in III John 1:2. Receive God’s Word with meekness and your soul will prosper. It’s that simple.

Romans 12:2  And be not conformed to this world: but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Prove God’s will in your own life. Respond to God’s love by meekly receiving His Word of truth. Transform your mind by renewing it to God’s Word. Your soul will prosper and you will be in better health and you’ll be more prosperous in everything you do.  Praise God for his loving kindness to us His children!

Sheltered by God’s Love and Presence

Sheltered by God's Love

“God’s love shelters me — from far beyond the world we see.” Those words are from a song-poem I wrote many years ago and those words are still true today. Nothing in the wold that happens around me or to me can change my love for my Father God and my Lord Jesus Christ. They are the sole reason I exist, live and move. I cannot imagine living without having the rich knowledge of God abounding in me. To wake up and not know my Creator — to walk through this life with all its ups and downs and in-betweens — would just be a waste of time if not for my Savior Jesus Christ.

If you don’t yet know this kind of love; if you don’t have this kind of relationship with your God, I’m here to tell you that it’s available. Right now. Right where you live. Right where you are in your emotions and mental capacity. Right home inside of you! You can know the love of Christ that passes knowledge.

Ephesians 3:14-19  For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Of whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named,

That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;

That Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love,

May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height;

And to know the love of Christ, which passeth knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.

Paul’s prayer is my prayer for you this day. Would you like to be “strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man?” Would you like Christ to “dwell in your heart by faith?” Do you want to know the 4-dimensional love of Christ that passes knowledge.  Do you want to be “filled with all the fullness of God?”

Those are powerful words revealing powerful concepts. But know, my friend, that these words are reality. They are achievable, attainable right now in this world. That’s the love God has for you and all His children. To reveal Himself to each one of us individually is God’s golden heart. He wants in intimate relationship with each one of us and now is the time to begin.

Romans 10:9,10 If you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.

For with the heart man believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Living in this world is tough. You never know what’s coming your way though we do our best to plan, avoid and pursue that which is good. But living in this world without knowing God and the Lord Jesus Christ is much worse. In that life there is no hope and you’ll never experience the joy that can be yours — regardless of any outside or internal conditions — when you are walking with God.

I encourage you to confess Jesus is Lord and believe God raised him from the dead. You shall be saved. You’ll start a spiritual walk that will grow day by day until you are just like our Lord Jesus in character and power. Jesus is the firstfruits from the dead — the first to be raised and receive his glorious body. Those who believe in him will be likewise transformed at his coming for us.

You are invited!

The Joy When One Repents Testifies of God’s Love

The Lost Sheep Found God's Love

Matthew 18:12-14  What do you think? If a man owns a hundred sheep, and one of them wanders away, will he not leave the ninety-nine on the hills and go to look for the one that wandered off?

And if he finds it, truly I tell you, he is happier about that one sheep than about the ninety-nine that did not wander off.

In the same way your Father in heaven is not willing that any of these little ones should perish.

God’s love is individual and personal. The entire reason for the Creation is so God could have intimate fellowship with mankind. Adam didn’t supply it. Nobody from Adam supplied it. But God’s only begotten Son did supply it and opens the way for us to do the same.

I see God’s love exhibited in this parable of the lost sheep. God is not willing that any should perish. If you were a good Father and one of your children didn’t come home from school one day, how would you feel?  I’d be combing the countryside by my house until I found my child, how about you?

God is no less loving that we are and is in fact infinitely more. He longs for fellowship with His children. If one was to go missing, look out! He would leave no stone unturned.

God is Love

The Bible teaches us God is love.

I John 4:8  He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

God’s love is unconditional. We understand this because He says He loves all people in John 3:16.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God gave His only begotten son for the entire world, so it it is everyone, everywhere who He is referring to in this verse. God loves everyone even if they don’t love Him in return.

Man Needs Salvation

The only reason anyone doesn’t love God is because they don’t know Him. Once you get to know the Creator God, your love for Him will grow so much you’ll find it hard to contain your emotions. This is the God who is in the process of saving the world from what we ourselves, with the help of a spiritual entity named Satan, have made it to become.  Originally the world wasn’t in the condition it is found in now. There were no thorns and thistles in the garden of Eden and pain, suffering and death were absent also.

When man disobeyed God, as recorded in Genesis 3, he handed his God-given dominion of the earth over to God’s adversary, Satan. The very word Satan means “adversary.” Since then, Satan is called, “the god of this age.”

II Corinthians 4:4  The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, so that they cannot see the light of the gospel that displays the glory of Christ, who is the image of God.

Those are very revealing words. There is a spiritual power, a spiritual entity orchestrating things in this world to distract us from what really matters, which is getting to know our Father God. But we don’t want to dwell on Satan, we want to dwell on God. He’ll take care of that old serpent for us in due time.

Jesus is the Savior

God could have just forgotten the whole idea when man disobeyed Him and went his own way, but God knew if man really understood what life was about, no-one on earth would not want to live the right way. Because of that, instead of giving up on us when Adam disobeyed Him, God had already devised an ingenious plan to save mankind.  He would have His own son and offer His own son’s life in payment for Adam’s disobedience.

To illustrate what God’s son, Jesus, would accomplish during his life, God commanded Israel to carry out certain sacrifices. Those sacrifices were a “shadow of things to come” meaning they were examples that would one day be fulfilled by Jesus himself. Until Jesus came, God had His people participate in feasts, sacrifices and other observances that taught about the coming Savior and what he would accomplish.

The name Jesus means “Savior.” It is the same name as Joshua in the Old Testament. It is given to our Lord because “He saves His people from their sins.” This is His special role.

Because man can’t save himself, God had to provide a way to save us Himself. Jesus is the only way. The name of Jesus is the only name given under heaven by which men must be saved.

Acts 4:12  Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is no other name [Jesus] under heaven given among men, by which we must be saved.

Notice the two main things in the above verse:

  1. Men must be saved
  2. Jesus is the only one that can save anyone

God Doesn’t Want Any to Perish

II Peter 3:9  The Lord is not slow concerning his promise, as some regard slowness, but is being patient toward you, because he does not wish for any to perish but for all to come to repentance.

God is busy right now, working with His people to save all of mankind. Right now this world is no comparison to the one that shall follow. This world shall be done away with and a new one put in it’s place and the people on that new earth will know what love is and who love is. We will live their lives the way God wants us to live them, loving Him and loving our neighbor as much as we love ourselves.

Until then things can be hard down here on planet earth. Everything seems to be messed up or end that way. None of our worldly leaders are going to solve any significant problems because they have neither the wisdom nor the love of God. All they can do is put band-aids on things and in so doing they often make things worse.

I can assure you, from the truth revealed in God’s Holy Word that all things will be made right eventually. We are in the process of that now, but it will take the return of the Lord Jesus Christ from heaven to earth in order to accomplish it.

Why is God waiting?

Simply to bring more people in the His family before He winds everything up.

But we are closer than you might think to Jesus’ second coming. Have no doubt about it — it will happen just as it is prophesied in the Bible. Over 2/3 of the prophecies in the Bible are about Christ’s second coming while only 1/3 were about his first coming when he was born. Over 300 prophecies were fulfilled in his first coming. The rest will be fulfilled at his second coming just as the first 300 were fulfilled. Nothing is going to stop it because nothing can stop it.

Come God’s Way Today

God wants all men to be saved. Read it for yourself:

I Timothy 2;3-6  For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour;

Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth.

For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus;

Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.

If God has touched your heart and you feel He is calling you to get right with Him, I encourage you to do so right now.

Here’s how you can become joined to God for eternal life so you can begin building an intimate relationship with Him.

Romans 10:9,10  That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

God’s Love is.

Freedom Of Speech Under Attack — By the Pope?

Freedom of Speech Voltaire

Freedom of speech is under attack worldwide. The attack is being spearheaded by Islamic apologetic groups like CARE who want all disparaging remarks about Allah, Mohammed and Islam itself to be outlawed. That would server their purpose well — to quash anything negative people have to say about their belief system.

But I never thought I’d hear anyone in Christian leadership say anything to restrict people’s freedom of speech. Now the Pope has come out suggesting that freedom of speech doesn’t include the right to belittle others’ faiths. Hmmm… I think all the Biblical prophets decried false belief systems and some even went further and physically destroyed their idols and temples.

I’d like you to read the Biblical account of Elijah and the prophets of Baal which illustrates a powerful prophet of God mocking the false god Baal.

I Kings 18:1-40  So Obadiah went to meet Ahab and told him, and Ahab went to meet Elijah.

When he saw Elijah, he said to him, “Is that you, you troubler of Israel?”

“I have not made trouble for Israel,” Elijah replied. “But you and your father’s family have. You have abandoned the Lord’s commands and have followed the Baals.

Now summon the people from all over Israel to meet me on Mount Carmel. And bring the four hundred and fifty prophets of Baal and the four hundred prophets of Asherah, who eat at Jezebel’s table.”

So Ahab sent word throughout all Israel and assembled the prophets on Mount Carmel.

Elijah went before the people and said, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow him; but if Baal is God, follow him.”

But the people said nothing.

Then Elijah said to them, “I am the only one of the Lord’s prophets left, but Baal has four hundred and fifty prophets.

Get two bulls for us. Let Baal’s prophets choose one for themselves, and let them cut it into pieces and put it on the wood but not set fire to it. I will prepare the other bull and put it on the wood but not set fire to it.

Then you call on the name of your god, and I will call on the name of theLord. The god who answers by fire—he is God.”

Then all the people said, “What you say is good.”

Elijah said to the prophets of Baal, “Choose one of the bulls and prepare it first, since there are so many of you. Call on the name of your god, but do not light the fire.”

So they took the bull given them and prepared it.

Then they called on the name of Baal from morning till noon. “Baal, answer us!” they shouted. But there was no response; no one answered. And they danced around the altar they had made.

At noon Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.”

So they shouted louder and slashed themselves with swords and spears, as was their custom, until their blood flowed.

Midday passed, and they continued their frantic prophesying until the time for the evening sacrifice. But there was no response, no one answered, no one paid attention.

Then Elijah said to all the people, “Come here to me.” They came to him, and he repaired the altar of the Lord, which had been torn down.

Elijah took twelve stones, one for each of the tribes descended from Jacob, to whom the word of the Lord had come, saying, “Your name shall be Israel.”

With the stones he built an altar in the name of the Lord, and he dug a trench around it large enough to hold two seahsa of seed.

He arranged the wood, cut the bull into pieces and laid it on the wood. Then he said to them, “Fill four large jars with water and pour it on the offering and on the wood.”

“Do it again,” he said, and they did it again.

“Do it a third time,” he ordered, and they did it the third time.

The water ran down around the altar and even filled the trench.

At the time of sacrifice, the prophet Elijah stepped forward and prayed: “Lord, the God of Abraham, Isaac and Israel, let it be known today that you are God in Israel and that I am your servant and have done all these things at your command.

Answer me, Lord, answer me, so these people will know that you, Lord, are God, and that you are turning their hearts back again.”

Then the fire of the Lord fell and burned up the sacrifice, the wood, the stones and the soil, and also licked up the water in the trench.

When all the people saw this, they fell prostrate and cried, “The Lord—he is God! The Lord—he is God!”

Then Elijah commanded them, “Seize the prophets of Baal. Don’t let anyone get away!” They seized them, and Elijah had them brought down to the Kishon Valley and slaughtered there.

The key verse I wanted you to see is repeated below:

At noon Elijah began to taunt them. “Shout louder!” he said. “Surely he is a god! Perhaps he is deep in thought, or busy, or traveling. Maybe he is sleeping and must be awakened.”

Now tell me what’s the difference between this and drawing a cartoon that mocks Allah or Mohammed? The comparison I’m making is even closer than you think. If you research Allah and Baal you will see the connection.

I included verse 40 above to show you what a true man of God did to false prophets in Old Testament times. As Christians today we are not to resort to violence to cleanse the land of counterfeit gods and belief systems, because our battle is not physical, as it was in the Old Testament, but is spiritual.

II Corinthians 10:4 (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds;)

Ephesians 6:10-13  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.

Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

Our warfare is carried out spiritually and words — yes words — are our ammunition. God’s Word specifically is our “sword of the spirit” by which we not only defend but advance the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

Freedom of Speech Is the Right To Dissent

Any society that restricts people’s God-given freedom of speech does so to prevent it’s people from speaking against the government of that society.  The entire reason we have freedom of speech is to give us the ability to dissent. It’s the only form of control that prevents the free exchange of ideas. Without the free exchange of ideas, nobody can say anything against what someone else says and does.

Dissent is healthy and dissent promotes progress. Let’s look at a definition of Dissent.

dis·sent
dəˈsent/
verb
  1. hold or express opinions that are at variance with those previously, commonly, or officially expressed.
“two members dissented from the majority”
noun.
  1. the expression or holding of opinions at variance with those previously, commonly, or officially held.
“there was no dissent from this view”
synonyms: disagreement, difference of opinion, argumentdispute; More

When you take away the right to dissent, you take away all opposition to whatever it is you want to do. This is why the highly influential Muslim think tanks are trying to get United Nations laws passed to restrict saying anything against their god and their prophet.

But would they observe the same thing?  Of course not. CARE wants to restrict any form of expression of Christianity period.  They made a statement saying they were offended because the Seahawks football team was seen praying after their playoff game last Sunday. According to CARE, that should not have been televised.

There is No Freedom without Freedom of Speech

Without freedom of speech there is no freedom, it’s as simple as that. Freedom of speech is the only thing that allows us to challenge things that are wrong. When you take that right away, you have paved the path to dictatorship and even more oppression.

We need to defend our God-given right to free expression  no matter who says it should be curtailed. Respect is one thing, but I do not respect error and will continue to speak out on behalf of the truth. I invite you to join in.

There are People Who Still Want Answers!

People Want Answers

I just want to thank God for leading someone to me that has a heart for the truth. It’s been a long, long time since I met someone who truly wants answers and actually listens, considers and checks out what I’m saying to “see if those things are so.”

A month ago I was introduced to a young man named Michael. As we talked I noticed his enthusiasm whenever I mentioned something about God or Jesus or the Bible.  Then the questions started coming. Some people ask questions just to feign interest, but Michael was different. He asked because he wanted to know.

When I answered a question and referred to a Bible verse, he quickly looked up the verse using his Internet connection on his mobile phone. That is rare indeed. He read whatever I recommended and then talked about it with me.

I invited Michael to my Saturday morning Bible study at my home and he attended just as he said he would. I taught the first several chapters of Genesis to show how everything got started and his interest piqued even more. For three weeks we met every Saturday morning and a couple times through the week. Michael absorbed every word and is more committed to truth than ever.

Tuesday morning the Army recruiter came and took Michael away to boot camp. He signed up so he could go to college without getting in debt. This is a wise person and we prayed for his protection as he goes to serve his country. I will miss Michael tremendously but we’ll keep in touch, I’m sure. Some may say that I helped Michael along, and praise God if that is true, but to me, he helped me more than I helped him. You see he gave me hope that there still are people after God’s own heart.  There are still people hungering and thirsting after God. There are still those who want to know what life is about and how they fit in.

Thank you Michael for your heart and for your commitment to the truth. Thank you Jesus for bringing Michael along to show me, once again, that you are in charge and you know those who you have called. Praise to you!

Don’t Be Confused by Counterfeits Designed to Deceive

Truth Dispels Counterfeits

There are many belief systems in our world today and I’ve found Christians who are confused as to both their origins and purpose. Some cannot separate truth from error and many have left the true faith because of it. But the wise will search these things out beyond the surface to see what’s really there.

From the research I and others have done, it is clear that all of these systems are simply counterfeits and are not truth at all. To see a counterfeit you have to know the original pretty well. if you were to hand me a well printed counterfeit $100 bill, I couldn’t tell the difference between it and a genuine $100 bill.  Why?  Because I haven’t studied the genuine $100 bill to know it well enough to spot a counterfeit. To spot a counterfeit you have to know the original very well.

coun·ter·feit
ˈkoun(t)ərˌfit/
noun
plural noun: counterfeits
  1. 1.
a fraudulent imitation of something else; a forgery.
“he knew the tapes to be counterfeits”
    synonyms: fakeforgerycopyreproductionimitation;
verb
3rd person present: counterfeits
  1. 1.
    imitate fraudulently.
“my signature is extremely hard to counterfeit”
    synonyms: fakeforgecopyreproduceimitate

“his signature was hard to counterfeit”

By studying the evolution of these belief systems we discover when they were introduced. By studying the Bible we see why they were introduced. Deception is, well, deceitful, but good research will expose it for what it is. Let’s see what we can find out about these other systems.

The Primal Seed Prophecy

The Bible records the record of when Adam and Eve disobeyed God and ate from the forbidden tree of the knowledge of good and evil. Their transgression resulted in death and the curse of the earth.  From Adam death has passed on to all men, and with death, sin.

Romans 5:12  Therefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

But God did not leave man without hope. Immediately after the transgression, God spoke to the devil, that old serpent, and foretold what would happen.

Genesis 3:15  And I [God speaking to the serpent] will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

That is the primal prophecy given before any ‘religious system’ was put in place. This promise of the coming “seed of the women” was the first thing ever revealed in words regarding a savior. However that was not the only way God revealed what He was doing regarding the Creation. Oh, no, God knew about all this in advance and the Architects of the Universe built the story right into His Creation.

God ‘s Word Revealed Before Adam’s Transgression

The proof that God knows the end from the beginning is in the stars. Even before Adam and Eve transgressed God’s only command, God had already written His Word in the stars. The Bible calls this the Mazzaroth.

Job 38:31-33  Canst thou bind the sweet influences of Pleiades, or loose the bands of Orion?

Canst thou bring forthMazzaroth in his season? or canst thou guide Arcturus with his sons?

Knowest thou the ordinances of heaven? canst thou set the dominion thereof in the earth?

“The “Mazzaroth” is the twelve constellations within the sun’s apparent path through the heavens, commonly referred to as the “Zodiac.”[1] These are in the form of pictures constructed from the stars within that constellation, a woman (Virgo), scales (Libra), a Scorpion (Scorpio), an archer (Saggitarius), a goat-fish (Capricorn), a man with a water pot (Aquarius), two fishes (Pisces), a Lamb (Aries), an Ox (Taurus), twins (Gemini), a crab (Cancer), and a lion (Leo). In God’s response to Job, He indicated that He alone brings forth the twelve signs each year in their proper months. Psalm 19, and Paul’s quote of it in Romans 10:16-18, proves that the Zodiac (Mazzaroth) was designed by God as a means of communicating a prophetic message in pictures to all languages of the earth.”

Before you jump to conclusions that anything to do with the stars is occultic, remember what God said about them when he made them.

Genesis 1:14-19  And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,

and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so.

God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.

God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth,

to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.

And there was evening, and there was morning—the fourth day.

Notice the phrase, “let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years.”

For a detailed look at the words in the above verses, please see: http://www.mazzaroth.com/Introduction/FourthDayGenesis.htm

Perhaps the best work to date on this subject is by E. W. Bullinger, called “Witness of the Stars.” You can download his work here: Download Witness of the Stars.

I encourage you to take the time to read this book. It will show you how the heavens testify of the glory of God — not only in it’s magnificence but in it’s words which are encapsulated in the names of the stars.

You can draw any picture you want in the heavens by simply connecting dots. That’s now how the 12 signs came about. Each of the 12 signs consists of three major constellations. The constellations and the signs were drawn to preserve the meaning of the names of the stars that they consist of. By learning the names of those stars it becomes very clear that the 12 signs are testifying of Jesus the savior of mankind.

Beginning with Virgo the virgin who would have a son to be sacrificed for mankind, and ending with Leo the lion, all 12 signs refer to Jesus Christ and his mission. He comes back as the lion of the tribe of Judah to establish His kingdom in righteousness.

Very briefly, all non-biblical belief systems are counterfeits of the primal prophecy given about the seed of the woman whose “heel” would be injured but who would in turn crush the head of God’s adversary. God wrote His overall plan, His Word, in the stars. He told the devil directly what would transpire through the ages.

The devil then took that primal revelation and perverted it into the worship of the “host of heaven.” Instead of the sun, moon, stars and planets serving as symbols and signs, the devil convinced people that those things themselves had supernatural powers. People worshiped the sun and the moon and the stars instead of the Creator Himself. Disregarding the clear teaching of the names of the stars in their various groupings (constellations and signs), the truth was replaced with counterfeits.

Eventually astrology took the place of the true mazzoreth and as you can see today has nearly replaced all teaching on the subject of God’s Word in the stars.

Christianity Came Before Egyptology

Last week I had the pleasure of speaking with someone who tried to convince me that Christianity was a form of repackaged Egyptology. What rubbish! God’s Word proves otherwise. Just because Egypt came before the first five books of the Bible were written proves nothing. God’s Word was already revealed for some 2500 years before that to the prophets God chose, and it was spread by word of mouth before writing was available.

Here’s just one proof that Christianity existed in the mind of God before Egypt was ever established as a nation.

Ephesians 1:4  According as he has chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love.

Christians were chosen by God before the foundation of the earth. That word “foundation” is interesting because it isn’t the usual word translated foundation. Rather it’s the Greek word “katabole” which means “overthrow.” We Christians were chosen in Christ before the overthrow of the earth. When might that be? Check out “the Genesis gap theory” for more information.

For those who are unfamiliar with all this, I sympathize. These truths are not taught in traditional churches today. There is a general “bankruptcy” of truth which is shameful given the vast resources we have to uncover information today.

The Devil Supplies Counterfeits For All

The devil is God’s adversary. He cannot come up with anything new himself. All he can do is counterfeit what God has done. He got busy doing just that after the primal prophecy of the seed of the woman in Genesis 3:15. This is why you’ll find so many similarities between the counterfeits and the original. But only the original explains all the counterfeits.

The next time someone tries to tell you Christianity is a ‘late addition’ to the religious spectrum, tell them they have to learn the original in order to see the counterfeit. Get to know God’s Word yourself so well that you have an answer to everyone regarding the hope that is within you through Christ.

I Peter 3:15  But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asks you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear.

Don’t settle for a counterfeit of the truth — receive the truth itself from God’s revealed Word.  Stay safe and secure in Christ, the promised seed of the woman.

Are Christian Protests Against Islamic Terrorism Justified?

Protest Islamic Terrorism

As we watch over a million protesters against Islamic terrorism gather in France to decry the recent attacks, many Christians are wondering if we should be participating in protests like this. It’s a good question because we want to be involved where God wants us to be involved and we want to avoid that which God says to avoid.

The Scriptures talk about turning the other cheek when someone slaps you. It talks about giving two coats to the person who asks for one. This pattern of answering evil with good is what God and our Lord Jesus Christ are all about. Answering evil with evil is definitely the wrong path. God will not bless that. But what about protests?

Let’s see what Jesus has to say about speaking out against evil.

John 16:5-11  But now I go my way to him that sent me; and none of you asketh me, Whither goest thou?

But because I have said these things unto you, sorrow hath filled your heart.

Nevertheless I tell you the truth; It is expedient for you that I go away: for if I go not away, the Comforter will not come unto you; but if I depart, I will send him unto you.

And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

Of sin, because they believe not on me;

Of righteousness, because I go to my Father, and ye see me no more;

Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged.

The Comforter is the Spirit of Truth which gave birth to the Christian church on Pentecost. Those who are born again of God’s spirit have this comforter which Jesus said would reprove the world of sin “because they believe not on me.”

The Bible Itself Condemns Islam and Calls Mohammed a Liar

Islam does not believe on the Christ of God. They believe Jesus lived and never died. They teach Judas was crucified in the place of Jesus and God just pulled Jesus up into heaven alive. Hence, nobody who believes what the Koran and writings included in the Hadith (authoritative writings about the false prophet Mohammed)  teach about Jesus are saved. Absolutely no-one.

I John 2:22  Who is a liar but he that denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denies the Father and the Son.

When people say that Islam is peaceful and that Islamic terrorists are ‘hijacking’ Islam, they are ignorant of the true nature of Islam. Every Muslim is commanded by the Koran to engage in worldwide Jihad to take over the world for Allah. Not one is excluded from this command. The penalty for not becoming Islamic is death. The penalty for those who leave Islam is also death. There is no question about it, the Koran itself teaches Islamic extremism and terrorism.

The Proper Christian Response to Islam is Rejection

Christians should respond to Islam and Islamic terrorism the way God wants us to respond. If the comforter, the holy spirit of truth that we were born of is within us, we need to respond the way the spirit responds. We’ve seen that means to reprove those who hold such a contrary and antichristic doctrine. Reproof is the correct response, not acceptance. We do not condone Islamic beliefs nor the resulting violence stemming from those believes.

But Christians are not called to wage war with Islam.

Romans 12:19  Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, says the Lord.

The Lord will avenge us; we don’t need to and are told not to avenge ourselves. These can be hard words for those in the immediate families and close friends of Christians who have been hurt or killed by Islamic terrorism, but God wants us to know it’s not over with the acts they commit. Each of them will stand in judgement before our Lord Jesus Christ and each will pay for their blasphemous words and works.

Let The Weeds Grow With The Wheat Until Jesus Returns

Jesus told us to engage others with words, not swords, until he returns. He’ll be wielding the Sword of God Almighty when he returns and all you have to do is read the book of the Revelation of Jesus Christ to see what he does with it.

Mattnew 13:24-29  Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:

But while men slept, his enemy came and sowed tares among the wheat, and went his way.

But when the blade was sprung up, and brought forth fruit, then appeared the tares also.

So the servants of the householder came and said unto him, Sir, didst not thou sow good seed in thy field? from whence then hath it tares?

He said unto them, An enemy hath done this. The servants said unto him, Wilt thou then that we go and gather them up?

But he said, Nay; lest while ye gather up the tares, ye root up also the wheat with them.

Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn.

Islam Will be Rooted Up

Islam is not here forever. It will have its day in the person of the Antichrist and his temporary subjugation of the world, but that is only for an hour on God’s timetable. Though they may reek havoc now, they will pay for their sin. Each Muslim will, eventually, voluntarily confess that Jesus is Lord to the glory of God our Father. That will be after they are purged from their evil thoughts and ways.

God said it, I believe it. That’s it.

To answer my original question, should Christians protest against Islamic terrorism, I believe the answer is clear. We’re to speak out against Islam itself, not just Islamic terrorism, but we are not to use any form of violence at all. If you are attacked you do have the right to defend yourself. There’s nothing wrong with that. But take no violent offensive against them.

That’s Jesus Christ’s job when he returns!
