Indiana’s Religious Freedom Law Stirs Intollarant Response

Religions Freedom in USA

Indiana’s new religions freedom law has generated an avalanche of negative response primarily from gay and lesbian groups across the nation, resulting in some refusing to do business in the State. The response was totally unexpected because 19 other states have passed similar laws without any backlash.  The Washington Post revealed this fact.

On Friday, the Washington Post published an article titled “19 states that have ‘religious freedom’ laws like Indiana’s that no one is boycotting.” The article snarks about organizations like the NCAA that have protested Indiana’s law, noting “the NCAA didn’t say it was concerned over how athletes and employees would be affected by Kentucky’s RFRA when games were played there last week.” The piece concludes “Indiana might be treated as if it’s the only state with a bill like this, but it’s not.” The piece has been shared over 75,000 times on Facebook. (Source: http://thinkprogress.org/lgbt/2015/03/30/3640374/big-lie-media-tells-indianas-new-religious-freedom-law/

So what is all the fuss over this law passed in Indiana? There is a distinction in Indiana’s law that the other states’ laws do not have. With Indiana’s law, disputes between private citizens are included while in the other states, and in the Federal law signed by Bill Clinton, that clause is excluded. The fear is that the new law in Indiana will be used to discriminate between gays and non-gays.

I’m amazed we need any laws about religions freedom passed at all. Doesn’t our Constitution of the United States guarantee religions freedom? Of course it does. But there is a continual onslaught of laws that do infringe upon those rights so the need for laws to counteract them seem expedient.

I have to pose a question to my fellow Christians though that might help to clear the air. To add context to my question let me state that I believe the Bible clearly states that homosexuality and lesbianism is “against nature.”

Romans 1:24-27  Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:

Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:

And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.

Now I didn’t write the Book, and I didn’t create mankind. Neither did you. You didn’t put the ‘natural rules’ into place and all you can do is live by the natural order or corrupt it. We clearly see God’s attitude toward those who corrupt it. He allows them to corrupt themselves because of their attitude.

I obviously think homosexuality and lesbianism is sinful. It’s against God’s natural order.  I base what I believe on the written Word of God.

With that in mind, here is my question.

“What is wrong with serving a homosexual or lesbian?”

Shock horror!  Did I really say that? Hmm… let me explain.

If I teach something in God’s Word to someone — anyone — am I not serving that person?  It doesn’t matter if it’s a gay person or not, I am serving that person God’s Word. Is there anything wrong with serving a gay person the Word of God?

Of course not. That’s what serving people is all about — helping them with whatever they need that you are able to supply.

So what’s the ‘big deal’ if a gay comes into my restaurant and I serve food to that person? What’s the big deal if I own a bakery and a gay couple comes in and orders a wedding cake?  Am I in violation of anything if I serve that cake to the gay couple?  I am violating my conscience if nothing else. That, I should not be forced to do.

Now let’s change the scenario. Let’s say I’m a Christian minister who can legally perform wedding ceremonies. If I agree to perform the ceremony for a gay couple, now I’m crossing the line. Now I have to explicitly go against what the Bible clearly says is wrong to meet that gay couple’s needs.  If I do so, I am violating not only my own conscience but God’s Word itself. That I will not do and I should not be required to do it under any law of man.

The Constitution of the United States guarantees my religions freedom. It guarantees that the government can pass no law that infringes on my free expression of my religions beliefs. If that same government makes me perform a marriage ceremony for gays and then accuses me for discrimination if I don’t, we have a big contradiction.

In summary, it’s a shame states like Indiana have to pass religions freedom laws when our very constitution guarantees it. More startling is the outrageous reaction by businesses and other organizations to Indiana’s new law. You would think Americans would stand up for our Constitutional rights. This doesn’t seem to be the case any longer.

What makes my weep is that these very Americans who are destroying our religions freedom are tearing at the very fabric of freedom in our nation. What they do not seem to understand is that the very actions they are talking today will hurt them in the end. As religions freedom erodes, so do our other rights. Some day they will wake up oppressed in what used to be “the land of the free and the home of the brave.”

Will they be so vocal then?

Three Stages of Christian Growth: Walk in Love is the First Stage

Walk in love as Christ loved us

The wonderful revelation in Ephesians lays out the three-stage growth of a Christian actively pursuing God’s will in his or her life.  In today’s post I’m going to talk about the first stage which is to “walk in love.” Here’s the text we will consider:

Ephesians 5:1-7  Be ye therefore followers of God, as dear children;

And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweetsmelling savour.

But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.

Be not ye therefore partakers with them.

The apostle Paul lays out the example of following God by showing the love Jesus Christ has for each one of us. If we truly want to follow God, that is to pursue God’s will in our lives, we must begin by practicing the love of God in our relationship with others. The prime example is in how Jesus laid down his life for each of us.

Romans 5:6-8  You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly.

Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous person, though for a good person someone might possibly dare to die.

But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Imagine a young girl walking out into a street without seeing a truck heading straight toward her. You’re in a position to save her if you act quickly but it may cost you your life. What would you do? Love would cause you to act before you even thought about it. Fear would cause you to cower and watch her die. Did you realize that love is the opposite of fear before you read that?

I John 4:18  There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.

Herein lies a key for us in our relationship with God, our Lord Jesus Christ and with other people. Fear is a barrier to love. Fear, which is lack of confidence, causes us to act differently than we normally would if fear was absent.

However love overcomes fear. As it says in I John 4:18, “perfect love drives out fear.” Amazing. We have the answer to overcoming fear and that is to simply love. Now what possibly can we be so confident about that it would enable us to save that little girl even if it cost us our own life?

How about this:

Colossians 3:4  When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory.

There it is.

Christ is Your Life

We died in Christ and were raised when he was raised. Christ is your life. God said it through the apostle Paul. Now believe it. Own it. Act on it. Realize that your identity is now Christ. You no longer live for yourself but for him.

Romans 6:8  And since we died with Christ, we know we will also live with him.

[Note: I include Bible verses often so you know I’m not speaking out of thin air or from preconceived opinions. Anyone can say what they “think” the Bible says, but I quote it so you know where I’m coming from and so you can have confidence in God’s holy Word rather than in me.]

Doing something as noble as losing your own life in order to save the little girl’s is something few people would be willing to do. Most of us value our lives and we’re willing to help out as long as it doesn’t cost us our life. But the love of God goes beyond that. The love of God realizes this life is but a flash in the pan. This life is so short compared to all eternity that very little is gained out of making it our primary consideration.

Those who have no other goal than to get what they can out of this life are missing the boat on the riches they could be gathering for the age to come. Those who love this world more than they love God will never, in this life, experience the joy that God has for them.

Yes, walking with God may cost you your life — but God will raise you up again when Christ returns so what have you to fear?

In Ephesians 5, Paul goes on to define how we “walk in love.”

Ephesians 5:3-5  But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints;

Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks.

For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.

Walking by the flesh is not walking in love. Messing people about, bullying, using people for your own agenda, even sexual lusts, are defined as the antithesis to love. “Take care of Number 1” is a common pursuit, but from what I’ve learned, God is “Number 1” — not you and certainly not me. If you truly care about Number 1 you’ll love others as Christ loved you.  Separate yourself from those who do the things listed above and instead walk in love as Christ loved us and gave himself for us.

You can pursue the flesh and the things of this world, or you can pursue God. The choice is yours. Walking in love is the very first stage of new Christian life. As we shall see in upcoming posts, it is actually the beginning and not the all-in-all. It’s the foundation upon which the next two stages of Christian growth are established.

Stay tuned for Stage 2 of Christian Growth.

Every Spiritual Blessing is Yours in Christ

Blessed with every spiritual blessingEvery spiritual blessing is already yours in Christ — if you are a believer that is. If you are a Christian with emotional or financial trouble; if you have medical concerns or issues and problems at every hand, lit may not seem like it, but circumstances do not change the Word of God. No, the Word of God is sure.

Read it for yourself:

Ephesians 1:3  Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ:

Isaiah 55:11  So shall My word be that goeth forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

Now here’s where I have to pose a couple of questions to see if you get it or not.

Are Christians Blessed with Every Physical Blessing?

Well, physical blessings are not specifically referenced in Ephesians 1:3 are they? No, but does that mean we only have spiritual blessings? We’ll have to explore other Scripture to see. Let’s see what we can find.

3 John 1:2  Beloved, I wish above all things that you may prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers.

The apostle John, in writing his third epistle, said he wished above all things that the believers may prosper and be in health. I believe he reflected God’s desire in this as well. But it doesn’t say we’ve been blessed with every physical blessing and I don’t think we can draw that conclusion from that one verse.

Israel Has Been Promised Physical Blessings

Genesis 26:1,2

Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

Deuteronomy 28:1:14  And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe and to do all his commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all nations of the earth:

And all these blessings shall come on thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy ground, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the flocks of thy sheep.

Blessed shall be thy basket and thy store.

Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

The LORD shall cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thy face: they shall come out against thee one way, and flee before thee seven ways.

The LORD shall command the blessing upon thee in thy storehouses, and in all that thou settest thine hand unto; and he shall bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

The LORD shall establish thee an holy people unto himself, as he hath sworn unto thee, if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in his ways.

And all people of the earth shall see that thou art called by the name of the LORD; and they shall be afraid of thee.

And the LORD shall make thee plenteous in goods, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy ground, in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers to give thee.

The LORD shall open unto thee his good treasure, the heaven to give the rain unto thy land in his season, and to bless all the work of thine hand: and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow.

And the LORD shall make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if that thou hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them

And thou shalt not go aside from any of the words which I command thee this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

Israel was promised physical blessings of land, increase, health and being a blessing to other nations but they were never promised, “every spiritual blessing.” That was reserved for us, children of God through the new birth in this dispensation of Grace under which we live.

“But I Want the Physical Blessings Too!”

I bet some of you out there are saying this too. “What can I do with spiritual blessings — I can’t take them to the bank.”  or, “I’d rather have the physical blessings.”  Such statements show how world-centered we are. We live in a material world and there are the haves and the have-nots, right? Blessing surely is shown by how much money and stuff you have, right?

I understand that sentiment, but I also understand that the primary and most valuable blessing of all is spiritual, not physical. Physical comes and goes; spiritual is eternal. Don’t be like

Spiritual blessings are on a way higher plane than physical blessings.

Genesis 25:30-34  And Esau said to Jacob, Feed me, I pray thee, with that same red pottage; for I am faint: therefore was his name called Edom.

And Jacob said, Sell me this day thy birthright.

And Esau said, Behold, I am at the point to die: and what profit shall this birthright do to me?

And Jacob said, Swear to me this day; and he sware unto him: and he sold his birthright unto Jacob.

Then Jacob gave Esau bread and pottage of lentiles; and he did eat and drink, and rose up, and went his way: thus Esau despised his birthright.

I bring up this bit of history to demonstrate how many Christians are pursuing Israel’s blessings and are ignoring their spiritual blessings in the process. I don’t know about you, but I would never trade my spiritual blessings for a pot of stew (physical blessings).  In fact I’d rather die hungry than miss out on everything God has in store for those who believe in Christ during this Age of Grace.

The Spiritual Realm Governs the Physical Realm

There is something else to consider here. The spiritual realm governs the physical realm. Surely God who is Spirit (John 4:24) can make rich who He wants to make rich and make poor who He wants to make poor. Don’t believe me?  Re-read Romans 9 and give it some deep thought.

God has not blessed us in the Christian church with every physical blessing. But understand this. Whatever you need to live and carry out His work, He shall supply.

Philippians 4:19  And my God shall supply all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.

Notice it says “needs” and not “greeds.” I’m sure that’s been pointed out to you before. What do we “need?” We need the basics such as physical sustenance and suitable clothing for the climate we live in. We need other people though that’s not as critical as having food to eat or shelter from the storm. We definitely have physical need and God will supply that as we walk with Him.

But what has God asked us to do? He’s asked us to live a godly life and to share the gospel of Christ with other people. He’s asked us to represent Him and His son Jesus in this dying material world. Whatever you need to do God’s work, He shall supply all that need as well.

Don’t be disappointed that you haven’t been blessed with every physical blessing in Christ. The physical is a breath in the wind; it comes and goes. There is nothing eternal about a physical blessing. However, spiritual blessings last forever. That’s something to live for. That’s something to really appreciate.

Thank you Father for every spiritual blessing in Christ that you have given to me your son. Thanks for all my brothers and sisters in Christ who have received these same spiritual blessings.  Help us see how special and how permanent they are. And until we receive them in full at the return of Christ and the subsequent consummation of all things, thank you for promising to supply all our need according to your riches in Christ Jesus.

Amen?

Amen!

Alter of Sacrifice Finished for Third Temple in Jerusalem

Alter of Sacrifice Israel

Exodus 40:29 And the altar of burnt-offering he set at the door of the tabernacle of the tent of meeting, and offered upon it the burnt-offering and the meal-offering; as the LORD commanded Moses.

Praise God! The Alter of Sacrifice has been completed by The Temple Institute in Jerusalem for the third Temple. It can be ready for sacrifice “in a moment’s notice.”

The rebuilding of the ancient temple is predicted throughout Scripture, starting with Daniel’s vision in Daniel 9:27. Jesus reiterated Daniel’s warning about an abomination standing in “the holy place” in the last days in Matthew 24:15, followed by the Apostle John’s vision of the Temple in Revelation 11:1-2. Paul mentioned it in 2 Thessalonians 2:3-4.

Ascetic Jews have long wanted to resume sacrifices but without a temple, it was impossible. Now that the alter has been finished, sacrifices can be resumed after nearly 2000 years. But the place where they want to sacrifice is the third holiest site in Islam and carrying out the sacrifice of a goat there will inflame Muslims across the middle east. For that reason, sacrifices have been banned by the Israeli government. My guess is that the alter will be used — and soon — before the third temple is actually built.

Jonathan Cahn, author of “The Harbinger” and “The Mystery of the Shemitah” also sees the announcement as significant.

“We know that end-time prophecy cannot be fulfilled without the rebuilding of the Temple in Jerusalem,” Cahn, a Messianic Jewish rabbi in New Jersey, told WND. “The abomination desolation prophesied in Daniel and in the Gospels, must take place within the Temple precincts. So, too, the apostle Paul speaks of the ‘man of sin,’ or the Antichrist, sitting in the Temple of God. What many people don’t realize is that along with the Holy of Holies, the altar of the Temple is the most central and critical part of the Temple.”

The Temple Institute Has Make All Things Ready for the Third Temple

The Temple Institute in Jerusalem has announced that it has finished building an altar suitable for the Temple service. The altar, which took several years to build, can be operational at little more than a moment’s notice, reported Matzav Haruach magazine.

The Temple Institute is committed to preparing all the necessary clothing and tools for the rebuilt Holy Temple in Jerusalem. In addition, the institute operates an educational center for visitors and a preparatory training program for members of the priestly family who wish to be ready to serve as soon as the Temple is rebuilt.

The altar is a central component to the Biblical sacrificial service. In fact, there were separate altars for the incense and for other sacrifices.

The larger altar sat in the outer courtyard of the Tabernacle, and later the Temple. It was approximately five meters (16 feet) tall and 16 meters (52.5 feet) wide, with four “horns”, or raised corners, and a ramp.

According to the Bible, the altar may not be made out of stones hewn by metal implements. The altar prepared by the Temple Institute, under the direction of architect Rabbi Shmuel Balsam, follows this requirement.

It is constructed instead from bricks fired at roughly 1,000 degrees Celsius (1,832 degrees Fahrenheit), to withstand the immense heat of the Temple’s eternal flame and the weight of the sacrificial animals. Its measurements conform to the interpretation of Maimonides.

What makes the altar so unique is that it can be disassembled and reassembled easily, allowing it to be transported quickly and efficiently from its current location, on display at the institute, to the Temple Mount when the time comes. It was inaugurated in December 2014 and is now ready for use. With Passover around the corner, and the Passover sacrifice a central component of the traditional celebration, perhaps that time will come soon!

Now that the alter has been rebuilt, expect things to move even more quickly in the Middle East.

Consider these “signs of the times” if you will.  There are so many signs converging in September of this year, 2015; is God about to do something huge?

Sign 1:  We are in the middle of a “4-blood moons” sequence during which a blood moon falls on exact Jewish holy days.

Two of the four blood moons have already occurred. The last two are in September and two weeks later in October of this year. The last two are very significant because the two holidays they fall on represent events on earth that have not yet been fulfilled.  I’ll write more about this in another post later this week.

Sign 2: A full solar eclipse will be visible from Israel on September 20, 2015.

The total solar eclipse on March 20th falls on Nisan 1, which is the first day of the first month of the Biblical calendar. According to Jewish tradition, a solar eclipse on Nisan 1 is a sign of judgment. And this has certainly been true in the past. For example, there was a solar eclipse on Nisan 1 in 70 AD. Later that year, the Romans, using largely Arab forces, attacked Jerusalem and completely destroyed the Temple. For more information about the coming solar eclipse and its possible implications see: http://www.prophecynewswatch.com/2015/March20/201.html.

Sign 3: September 20th is also the anniversary of the dedication of the second Temple to the Lord.

There is an interesting foreshadowing of this end-time rebuilding event in the book of Ezra, who gave an account of the Jewish exiles returning from captivity in Persia.

“In rebuilding the temple destroyed under the Babylonian occupation, the first act of those returnees was to rebuild an altar and offer sacrifices upon it to the Lord,” Gallups said.

They did this at the site of the ruined temple. The altar was constructed under the leadership of a high priest named, of all things, Yehoshua (Joshua, or Jesus in the New Testament Greek).

The returning Jews, according to Ezra, rebuilt this holy altar despite fears of attack from surrounding enemies. After the altar was rebuilt, and regular sacrifices reinstated, the returnees celebrated their first festival — the Feast of Tabernacles.

Sign 4: The last of the blood moons coincides with the start of the  the seven-year Shemitah cycle.

As soon as the Jews settled in the Holy Land,1 they began to count and observe seven-year cycles. Every cycle would culminate in a Sabbatical year,2 known as Shemittah,3 literally: “to release.”

The year following the destruction of the second Holy Temple was the first year of a seven-year Sabbatical cycle. In the Jewish calendar, counting from Creation, this was the year 3829, 68–69 CE on the secular calendar. By counting sevens from then, we see that the next Shemittah year will be the year 5775 after Creation, which runs from Sept. 25, 2014, through Sept. 13, 2015.

That feast occurs in autumn. This year it will occur during the season of the rare tetrad of four blood moons and the seven-year Shemitah cycle described in Cahn’s book.

Ezra, chapter three, says that after the altar was rebuilt and sacrifices resumed, and when the temple had been rebuilt – the people shouted with joy, praised the Lord and wept aloud. “And the sound (of the celebration) was heard far away.”

“Now, in 2015, we have the news that once again the altar of sacrifice has been rebuilt and is ready for use,” Gallups said. “We also know of a very serious plan to rebuild the ancient temple of God upon the Temple Mount. The days of Ezra and Yehoshua appear to be upon us again. In the midst of the celebration of these facts, the sound of that celebration is once again ‘being heard far away.’ And through the modern technology of the Internet the sound is being heard around the world. These are certainly prophetic times in which we are living.”

Biltz sees the timing of the altar announcement as prophetic.

“Tomorrow, (Saturday) every Jew in synagogues around the world is reading the Torah portion from Exodus about the construction of the tabernacle,” he said. “It’s the last chapter of Exodus about the glory falling, Moses coming out and blessing the people and the glory falling on the tabernacle.

“Not only that but this next week, historically, is the very day the dedication of the tabernacle happened, on Nisan 1, that is read in the Torah portion. This year, being Saturday, March 21. It actually begins at sundown on Friday, March 20.”

As an expert in the Hebrew roots of the Christian faith, Biltz is always looking at current events in light of the times and the seasons according to the Hebrew calendar. And there is something else special this year about Nisan 1, which arrives at sundown March 20.

“Amazingly, there is also a total solar eclipse occurring at the beginning of the religious calendar on March 20. A total solar eclipse speaks of judgment coming on the nations. This is followed two weeks later by a total lunar eclipse or blood moon on Passover.”

So the fact that a remnant of Jews has prepared an altar and the sacred vessels for temple services, even if the politics are still such that constructing the temple is currently impossible, is exciting, Biltz said.

Will Christians Be Gathered This Year?

I’m not a date-setter but the coincidence of heavenly signs this year has caught my attention.  These signs are highly significant. With Nisan 1 indicating judgement of the nations, along with the rest of the signs, this could mark the beginning of the period of judgement we read about in the books of Revelation, Daniel and others.

I’m not advising people to go and sell everything they have because the Lord is returning this September for us, because there is so much we don’t know about God’s schedule of things to come. But something is brewing! Something big is about to happen and I can’t wait to see what it is.  But I’ll have to.  Wait that is.

James 5:7,8  Be patient, then, brothers and sisters, until the Lord’s coming. See how the farmer waits for the land to yield its valuable crop, patiently waiting for the autumn and spring rains.

You too, be patient and stand firm, because the Lord’s coming is near.

Titus 2:11-14  For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men. It teaches us to say ‘No’ to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age, while we wait for the blessed hope—the glorious appearing of our great God and Savior, Jesus Christ, who gave Himself for us to redeem us from all wickedness and to purify for Himself a people that are His very own, eager to do what is good.

He’s coming back people! Get ready if you’re not! Get busy telling others about Jesus Christ if you are! Things will be brought to completion by Him who knows the end from the beginning.

Presbyterian Church Trades the Word of God for Political Correctness

Presbyterian Church logo

The largest Presbyterian denomination in the United States has given sway to political correctness and pressure by changing their definition of marriage and allowing ministers to perform same-sex marriages. The controversy surrounding gay rights has been debated for more than three decades but the Word of God has had little effect.

What Word of God you ask?  I’m glad you asked. I’m always eager to share God’s Word with sincere hearts that want to know and live by the truth.

Genesis 2:24  For this reason a man shall leave his father and his mother, and be joined to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.

That’s God’s definition of marriage my friends: a man joined to his wife; in this declaration of marriage God is talking about Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve. Eve was female, not male.

Anyone who changes God’s Word is not worthy to be called a minister of the Lord.

The politically correct argument goes like this.  “God loves homosexuals and lesbians just as much as He loves heterosexuals. We must treat them equally in all things including marriage.”

The argument sounds reasonable, perhaps even ‘good,’ but what it fails to take into consideration is that God loves all people.

John 3:16  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

God loves the murderer just as much as He loves the honest physician who helps people live longer and in better health. Does that justify murder? Of course not. God loves the rapist as much as He loves those who fight for women’s safety. Does that legitimize rape? I speak as a fool…

Just because God loves homosexuals and lesbians doesn’t mean he condones or approves it. Let these people into the church to listen and learn so that they might be healed, but don’t let their off-the-Word of God attitudes and lifestyles change your Word of God-based position on marriage itself!

Personally I love all people as commanded by God. This is not a homophobic dissertation. It’s not hate speech. I’m declaring simply what the Word of God says. The Word of God declares marriage as the joining of a man to a woman and it offers no exceptions to this rule. It’s up to us to conform our beliefs and lifestyles to the Word of God, not to change the Word of God to suit ourselves.

God made man in His image but ever since man fell, he’s been trying to remake God in man’s image. Man takes pleasure in defining God according to his own standards and desires but God will have none of it. God is Who He is pure and simple. Mankind was created by God to conform to God’s will. We define resisting the truth as sheer spiritual anarchy. Those who change the Word of God to accommodate political correctness due to political pressure have no right to declare themselves servants of the Lord Jesus Christ.

It’s imperative that God’s people recognize what’s going on and speak out against actions like this. Christians have a duty to preserve the truth, not ignore it.

In the final epistle of the New Testament, God urges people to earnestly (with all their resources and might) to contend (fight, compete) for the truth.

Jude 1:3  Beloved, when I gave all diligence to write to you of the common salvation, it was needful for me to write to you, and exhort you that you should earnestly contend for the faith which was once delivered to the saints.

The largest denomination of Presbyterian Church has sacrificed the Word of God for political correctness. This evolved from undo political pressure being put on us by our own government. God is not happy with this, nor is He silent concerning it. I’m not the only one speaking out warnings against it.

But how about you?  What will you do to help curb this blatant hypocrisy?  Whatever it is, I urge you to do something and to do it quickly. The Word of God is always at stake.

God bless you who stand on God’s Word in truth and sincerity, striving to contend for the true Christian faith.

Forging a New But Repeated Era of Christian Experience

Christian persecution at the Roman ColloseiumWe are entering a new era of Christian experience, but we’ve been here before. Under the auspices of political correctness and the fallacy of tolerance for all, Christianity is under severe attack. ISIS is killing Christians, and others, en-mass while the world watches and does little to counter it. All over the western world, Christians are being arrested for speaking the truth in love such as when a Christian evangelist visiting England was arrested for explaining to someone that the Bible speaks against homosexuality.

Muslims across the globe are working hard to eradicate Christian influence in government and culture. Claiming they are “offended” with anything that isn’t Muslim, they have been succeeding, at least partially, in denying Christians their God-given rights to free expression and assembly. And now we have churches letting them in to pray to Allah — in our own assemblies. This is nothing short of blasphemy.

Here’s an undeniable fact that cannot be overcome in any way, shape or form:

Christianity cannot coexist with Islam. The two are contrary one to the other.

Are you in any doubt about this? If so, I urge you to read the following verses and then make your mind up to whether my statement is true or not.

I John 2:21-23  I do not write to you because you do not know the truth, but because you do know it and because no lie comes from the truth.

Who is the liar? It is whoever denies that Jesus is the Christ. Such a person is the antichrist–denying the Father and the Son.

No one who denies the Son has the Father; whoever acknowledges the Son has the Father also.

Islam denies Jesus is the son of God. The Bible defines Islam as “antichrist” because of it. Christianity declares Jesus is the son of God, that he lived a perfect life by choice and that he was crucified for our sins and raised from the dead for our justification. In what sense does Islam agree with this? It doesn’t Islam denies Jesus Jesus is the son of God as well as his crucifixion and resurrection. They claim Judas was crucified in place of Jesus and that Jesus was ‘assumed’ up into heaven, having never died. They say he will return as a Muslim to declare the 12th Imam as the Mahdi who will rule the world. Jesus they say will voluntarily be in subjection to this Mahdi.

Worldwide Persecution of Christians Growing

There is a worldwide persecution of Christians already progressing. It’s getting worse week after week. Westerners are more insulated from it than those in the Middle East, and we need to stop turning our heads from it, hoping it will work out. These persecuted people need our prayer and practical help. We need to lobby our government to do something about it. Sitting back and doing nothing lets the cancer grow.

There are several places where you can get more information about Christian persecution. I’ve listed several below.

1) Open Doors:  https://www.opendoorsusa.org/christian-persecution/

From their site:

3) Christian Solidarity International: http://csi-usa.org/index.html
Learn more about the persecution of Christians worldwide, and what you can do to help.
4) Christian Persecution Magazine: http://www.christianpersecution.info/

5) Persecution.org: http://www.persecution.org/

These are just some of the many sites and organizations involved in exposing Christian persecution and helping the persecuted.  Christian persecution is being swept under the carpet by most of the major media but thank God there are people who want to expose it and help eliminate it.

A Tough Road Ahead for Christians

If you’ve read the Bible all the way through then you know as well as I do that God forewarns us of intense persecution in the last days. My friend, we are in the beginning of those last days and persecution will continue to raise it’s ugly head and increase. There is nothing we can do more than pray and help others.

While the immediate future for Christians is troublesome, we must always remember what God says about this. He says to expect it, that it is not final and that we will be victorious in the end no matter what the devil and his minions do to us in the meantime. Never let the fear or actual act of terror dissuade you.  Jesus died so you could live and he will make sure you do — when he returns.

Hold your head high and declare the Word of God with all boldness.

II Thessalonians 1:7-11  And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,

In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:

Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe (because our testimony among you was believed) in that day.

God be with you and yours. Fight the good fight of faith with the powerful ammunition of God’s Holy Word.
